X Visa Validity
The X Visa is typically issued as co-terminus with the primary visa holder's visa. This means:
- If the Employment Visa holder's visa is valid for 2 years, the X Visa is usually granted for 2 years as well.
- When the primary visa holder renews their visa, dependents typically need to renew their X Visas as well.
This co-terminal structure ensures that family members don't remain in India after the primary visa holder has left or had their visa terminated.

- Loses their visa: The X Visa may also be impacted.
- Changes employer (for Employment Visa holders): The X Visa validity continues, but the new employer situation should be reported to the FRRO.
Path to Long-Term Stay — OCI Card
