India Visa for Singapore Citizens
Singapore citizens are fully eligible for India's e-Visa, and the Singapore–India corridor is one of Asia's busiest for business travel. This guide covers what is specific to Singaporean travellers — including the OCI route relevant to Singapore's large community of Indian origin; the documents and process for each visa type are the same for all foreign nationals and are covered on our service pages.

India Visa Essentials for Singapore Citizens
- •Singapore citizens are not covered by India's Visa-on-Arrival facility — that remains limited to Japan, South Korea and (conditionally) the UAE. Apply online for the e-Visa before travel; the approval arrives as an ETA by email.
- •Regular (sticker) visa applications in Singapore are lodged through BLS International, the outsourced centre for the High Commission of India — e-Visas skip the centre entirely.
- •Singapore's large community of Indian origin means many travellers qualify for something better than repeat visas: the OCI card — lifelong, multiple-entry, FRRO-exempt. Check the eligibility rules before booking another e-Visa.
- •Frequent business travellers on the corridor should note the e-Business Visa's stay limits per visit — executives spending serious time in India often outgrow it and move to a regular Business Visa.
Which India visa do you need?
The requirements and process for each category are the same for all foreign nationals. For tourism, Singaporean travellers use the official e-Visa portal. For everything below, we handle the paperwork end to end:
Meetings, conferences, investment exploration.
Paid work with an Indian employer.
Spouses and children of visa holders.
Persons of Indian origin and spouses.
Treatment at recognised Indian hospitals.
Mandatory for stays beyond 180 days.
Extend an eligible long-stay visa.
Leave India after an overstay or expiry.
For tourism and shorter business trips, most Singapore citizens use the official India e-Visa portal. For employment, family (X), OCI, medical, or any FRRO/compliance matter, apply through the High Commission of India in Singapore (via BLS International) — our team manages the process end to end.
India Visa FAQs for Singapore Citizens
Do Singapore citizens need a visa for India?
Yes — there is no visa-free entry for Singapore citizens, and no Visa on Arrival either. Short visits typically use the e-Visa applied for online; employment and other long-stay purposes need the appropriate regular visa via the High Commission (BLS International intake).
Can Singaporeans of Indian origin get an OCI card?
Often yes — persons of Indian origin (former citizens, or descendants of Indian citizens) and foreign spouses of Indian citizens/OCI holders (married 2+ years) can apply for OCI, which replaces the visa cycle with a lifelong multiple-entry authorisation. Our OCI application guide covers eligibility and documents.
Which visa for frequent business trips from Singapore to India?
The e-Business Visa covers meetings and negotiations for most trips. Executives travelling very frequently or staying longer per visit often need a regular Business Visa from the High Commission — and anyone taking up paid employment in India needs an Employment Visa before travel.
