The Bureau of Immigration does not publish visiting hours for FRRO offices, and third-party listings conflict — so we don't list one. In-person visits generally happen only when the e-FRRO portal instructs you to attend; confirm timing through the portal or the contacts above before travelling.
Rajasthan moved to FRRO Jaipur and Haryana to FRRO Chandigarh in November 2025. BoI's update of 16 September 2026 then added the Gurugram district to Delhi's entry and Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) to Lucknow's, without removing either from the other office. Until BoI clarifies, the questions below set out what each entry says.
What FRRO Delhi handles
The core services are the same at every FRRO — what changes is who they apply to. At this office that means foreign nationals staying in Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Noida, Ghaziabad & Gurugram. For each service below, we handle the paperwork end to end:
Within 14 days of arrival on a visa valid over 180 days; before day 180 if you stay on a shorter one.

How to apply — start online, not at the office
Since 2018, FRRO services run through the official e-FRRO portal. You visit the Delhi office only if the portal or the office asks you to appear. If your visa has already expired, the service to look for is an exit permit through FRRO Delhi, not a registration or an extension.

Create an account on the official e-FRRO portal (indianfrro.gov.in) and select the service you need — registration, extension, exit permit, or another service.

Upload your documents (passport, visa, photograph, proof of address in India, and purpose-specific documents) and submit the application online.

Track the application status on the portal. Most cases complete without any office visit.

Attend FRRO Delhi in person only if instructed — bring originals of everything you uploaded.
Registration deadlines: foreign nationals on visas valid for more than 180 days must register within 14 days of arrival. Since June 2026, those on visas of 180 days or less who intend to extend must register before completing 180 days of stay. OCI cardholders and children under 12 are exempt. Which areas does FRRO Delhi cover?
FRRO Delhi covers Delhi (NCT); Himachal Pradesh; Uttarakhand; Gautam Buddha Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh (Noida & Greater Noida); Ghaziabad district, Uttar Pradesh; Gurugram district, Haryana on the Bureau of Immigration's current jurisdiction list (verified September 2026).
Does FRRO Delhi cover Gurugram (Gurgaon)?
BoI's own list is contradictory at the moment. Its jurisdiction page, updated on 16 September 2026, adds the Gurugram district of Haryana to FRRO Delhi's entry — but the same page still gives FRRO Chandigarh "Chandigarh and Haryana", and Haryana moved from Delhi to Chandigarh in November 2025. Until BoI clarifies, file on the e-FRRO portal with your Gurugram address, which routes the application, and check which office it goes to before planning a visit.
Does FRRO Delhi cover Noida and Greater Noida?
BoI's current list names two offices. FRRO Delhi's entry still includes Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida and Greater Noida) and Ghaziabad — Delhi has handled visa services there for years, and OCI services since 2020. But the 16 September 2026 update changed FRRO Lucknow's entry to "Uttar Pradesh (Including Gautam Buddha Nagar and Noida, except Hindon Airport)". Until BoI clarifies, file on e-FRRO with your address and check which office the application is routed to.
I live in Jaipur — is FRRO Delhi still my office?
No. Rajasthan moved from FRRO Delhi to the new FRRO Jaipur, upgraded to a full FRRO in November 2025.
Which FRRO covers Himachal Pradesh?
Himachal Pradesh falls under FRRO Delhi, along with Uttarakhand. If you are staying in Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala or anywhere else in the state, Delhi is your jurisdictional office.
Which FRRO covers Uttarakhand — Dehradun, Rishikesh or Haridwar?
All of Uttarakhand is under FRRO Delhi. Long-stay foreign nationals in Rishikesh and Haridwar on Student, Research or Employment visas register here.
I am in Faridabad or Gurugram — is that FRRO Delhi?
Faridabad: no. Haryana moved to FRRO Chandigarh in November 2025, and BoI's list still assigns the state to Chandigarh. Gurugram is the open question — BoI's 16 September 2026 update lists the Gurugram district under FRRO Delhi as well (see above).
Do I need to visit the FRRO Delhi office in person?
Usually not. Since 2018, applications are made online through the official e-FRRO portal, and you attend the office only if specifically asked to — for an interview, verification, or an exceptional case.
